What exactly is STEM?
Problem solving creativity
STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through STEM, students develop key skills including: problem solving. creativity.
To accomplish our goals we have affiliated ourselves with organizations such as Spark A Change Foundation wherein we conduct weekly sessions, each one focusing on a different facet of STEM.
We use methods like action learning and active recall to curate an experience that is unlike one a student is likely to receive through plain classroom learning. Our volunteers and teaching personnel often utilize experiments and various other available labs to create simulations. This triggers among students a deeper understanding of the concepts along with more practical rather than text-based learning. A strict policy we follow at FE is no tests or homework. Our goal is not to make Science feel like another subject that girls are mandated to study to obtain grades but something they are truly passionate about. Therefore, tests and homework are strictly prohibited at FE. Instead, we conduct interactive exercises and quizzes to help students bolster their memory and retain the matter. Every class pushes the boundary of ordinary learning and uses innovative strategies to inculcate among girls an interest in STEM
